Home About Lamine Gueye
For nearly a decade, Lamine Gueye has been sharing the rhythm, the flow, the fabric of West Africa with those who visit this culturally rich part of the world. He has guided thousands of people through his homeland of Senegal and through other countries of West Africa, including The Gambia, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea and soon Ghana.
A graduate of the University of Dakar with a major in English, Lamine is fluent in English, French, Portugese, and the Senegalese national language, Wolof. Prior to becoming a full time tour guide, Lamine taught English and Portugese to high school students. A native of Dakar, Senegal, Lamine fills the hearts of his "guests" with the passion and vibrancy of Africa. He says, "Being a tour guide gives me the opportunity to discover West Africa through the eyes of other people. With every tour I lead, I learn new perspectives from my diverse and unique clients. I am opened up to new experiences as well."
"Whatever your travel goals, I can work with you and your group to create a unique itinerary and an experience that will change your life, forever."
"Going to West Africa was an incredible opportunity to experience not only ancient, mysterious, and magical cultures, but amazing people as well. These people who have so little in the way of material possessions are so open in sharing their music, dance, history, belief systems, values, love and happiness with others. Our guide, Lamine Gueye, created an extraordinary experience for our group through his deep knowledge of the culture, the 'ins and outs' of travelling in West Africa, and his unique ability to communicate with vastly diverse people." - Brenda Countz, 2005 visitor to West Africa To contact Lamine, click here. |
